Tamino Parren
Tamino Parren studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design St. Joost in Breda and graduated in 2013 as a documentary filmmaker. He then followed the semi-annual Docwerk trajectory and worked on several television-documentaries (NTR/NPO2 Extra). Since then, he has combined his work as a director and as a camera operator. In 2017, along with filmmaker Loes Janssen, they founded Vis Film. Withing this company they create (short) documentaries for various television broadcasters and non-profit organizations, frequently art-related topics. In his films Parren investigates the relationship of the individual to their comfort zone. He is fascinated by people with an outspoken vision or a unique life style. People who lead an isolated life, sometimes out of free will and sometimes out of necessity are often returning characters in his films. Observations in one’s natural habitat almost turn the viewer into a voyeur and leads to intimate and surprising scenes.
