Simone Rots
Dr. Simone Rots is an architectural historian and partner of Crimson Historians & Urbanists. She is the Managing Director of the International New Town Institute, based in Rotterdam (NL) and the Network & Financial coordinator of the Independent School for the City. Next to that, she is Programme Expert Architecture at the Ammodo Architecture Awards. Simone received her PhD from Delft, University of Technology on the topic of the meeting point of modern planning and self-organisation. As the director of Hofbogen BV she was responsible for the transformation of the nineteenth century monumental train viaduct in the North of Rotterdam. She is experienced in developing (cultural) events in the field of architecture and urbanism on an international scale. She worked as project leader of WiMBY!, an urban renewal project in Rotterdam/Hoogvliet, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam 2005 and Rotterdam 2001, Cultural Capital of Europe.
