Nina Aalbers

Nina is an investigative architect and co-owner of Studio Architectuur MAKEN, a Rotterdam based architecture office. Architectuur MAKEN is striving towards a completely different way of building—biobased, circular, nature-inclusive, climate-adaptive, and energy-positive—so that the built environment ultimately emits no CO2 at all. She works on design, research and construction projects, varying from future-oriented housing and educational projects to an iconic observation tower in the landscape. Nina is also teacher and studio leader of “Studio Hout” at the TU Delft and part of the design review committee Omgevingskwaliteit en Cultureel Erfgoed in Rottedam (formerly “Welstandscommissie”).
