Martin Sobota

Martin is an architect and urban planner and co-founder of the award-winning international design and consultancy firm CITYFÖRSTER. His work circulates around a systemic understanding of the built environment or ‘city as a forest’ in which elements and issues are linked and strategic interventions are needed. Recent projects include a high density inner city development in Bratislava, Slovakia; a Sponge City plan in Hefei, China and multi-year research into Carbon-based Design, focusing on understanding the Carbon emissions in the built environment and developing reduction strategies across scales.
