Carolien Schippers
Carolien Schippers is a Rotterdam-based architect and researcher. With her practice -C-A-S-, she operates in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and spatial research. Her work increasingly focuses on peripheral areas — spaces that often escape collective cultural attention but stand as telling spatial products of contemporary society. She examines the contradictions and idiosyncrasies embedded in these spaces and the spatial and material potential they hold for the future.
Carolien’s independent work has received various honors and has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biënnale, the Victoria & Albert museum London and Het Nieuwe Instituut.
She was the fall 2024 architect in Resident at Arcam Amsterdam and is a guest teacher at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Delft University of Technology.
