AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Thank you for visiting AFFR 2022, save the date for 4 – 8 Oct 2023!

The fourteenth Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam was a big celebration. We received lots of positive responses to the almost 100 powerful, critical and beautiful films about various subjects with the theme ‘Freeze Frame’. We welcomed filmmakers and speakers from all over the world and worked intensively with programme partners from around the Netherlands. With a 10% rise in audience numbers compared to our top year in 2019, our cinemas were fuller than ever.
