AFFR explores the relationship between film, cities and architecture by programming and screening architecture films and by organizing introductions and debates.
The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Festivals also took place again in 2001 and 2003. In 2007 AFFR made a fresh start after a few years of silence. In 2009 the event expanded significantly in terms of visitor numbers and programming.
Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming a full house to Theater Zuidplein for our festive Opening Night. In the coming days we have a packed programme with premieres, debates and Q&As waiting for you at LantarenVenster. For now, here’s a recap of yesterday evening. See you at AFFR!
The Opening Night of AFFR 2023 was a great success! In a full auditorium of Theater Zuidplein, the audience enjoyed the world premiere of the documentary A Plan for Paradise by Kati Juurus. If you’ve missed it, there are still some tickets left for the other two screenings on Saturday and Sunday.
