AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Festivals also took place again in 2001 and 2003. In 2007 AFFR made a fresh start after a few years of silence. In 2009 the event expanded significantly in terms of visitor numbers and programming.

Paul Moers

Paul Moers has studied law and environmental studies at the University of Amsterdam. By the famous Dutch magazine, Tijdschrift van Marketing, he was voted as belonging to the 100 best marketing managers of Holland and the 6 best marketing consultants.
Paul has a broad experience in the full food supply chain. He started as a trainee at Cargill and worked in foreign exchange, shipchartering and hedging at the Chigaco board of futures. Het also worked for Cacao de zaan (WR Grace) as sales- and marketingmanager. In 1987 he switched to Unilever where he worked as Unit Manager speciality Oils & fats. In 1993  he became director for the margarine en bakery business  Unilever South – East Asia for wich he moved with his family to Jakarta in Indonesia.

After Unilever he made the last move in the supply chain and started working for Albert Heijn and later as CEO for the 600 liquor stores of Gall & Gall. After Gall & Gall he worked for 5 years at the MBA in Copenhagen and at the same time he started his consultancy company specialising in branding and strategy. He positioned  famous brands such as Interpolis, Jumbo, de Bijenkorf, Lotto, Hoog Catharijne, Frans Hals museum but also cities like Haarlem, Utrecht and Alkmaar. He advised many international brands such as Novozymes and Holmegaard glas. Paul is due to his broad experience advising each and every sector in the industry. As from 2010 he has been director at Paul Moers Strategic marketing Services.

Paul Moers is also a well known writer and publicist. He wrote 10 succesfull books about branding, marketing, retail, passion and service. 

Next to his consultancy work he is also commissioner at several industrial companies.

Paul Moers is also well known for his sharp comments in the press on brands, strategy and retail developments and for his outspoken lectures.
