
Nina Jurna studied Radio and Television journalism at the Hogeschool Windesheim in Zwolle (the Netherlands). After her studies she went to work for the Amsterdam TV Station AT5 as a general reporter for 4 years. In 2000, Nina moved to Suriname, where she was a correspondent for RTL News, Het Parool and NRC Handelsblad. Since 2011 Nina Jurna lives and works in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and worked freelance for various TV chanels and newspapers. Since 2015 untill now, she works full time for NRC Handelsblad as Latin-America correspondent. She has published three books and in 2019 was selected to be a guest at Zomergasten which is a signature programmes of Dutch public television broadcasted each summer by public broadcaster VPRO.
Nina is currently working on a series 7 Documentaries for VPRO in South America and the Caribbean planned be broadcasted in 2022. Since 2019 she also started to work for the NOS-journaal and reported from Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia and Suriname. Nina travels reguarly to other parts of Latin America as well as the Caribbean for TV and Newspaper reports.
