AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Festivals also took place again in 2001 and 2003. In 2007 AFFR made a fresh start after a few years of silence. In 2009 the event expanded significantly in terms of visitor numbers and programming.

Jurgen Bals

Jurgen Bals

Jurgen Bals is committed to making more space for water and greenery in the city. A blue-green layout will make the city more resistant to heavy rainfall, drought and heat. Water management should also grow along with ongoing urbanisation. Moreover, a blue-green environment is more attractive and healthier. Jurgen works at the Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard as area manager. Together with other (water) partners, the water board works on tomorrow’s water management.
