AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Frans Parthesius

Trained as a communication designer at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Frans Parthesius has always strived to integrate image-making into graphic design and exhibition design.

As a photographer and filmmaker, he focuses mainly on architecture, not limiting himself to realised buildings and urban planning, but also engaging with other phases is the process. For the last two decades, he has been working intensively with OMA to make model photography an integrated and layered part of their project presentations.
