Ernie Mellegers (MA) studied History of architecture and urbanism with Thomas A.P. van Leeuwen at Leiden University. Ernie lectures (and more) at the Royal Academy of Arts, Rotterdam Academy of Architecture, the TU Delft and also works as an independent researcher and writer. His expertise is the connection between architecture and the car, a subject on which he frequently lectures and publishes. A continuous base for this research is his published graduation thesis 9079U2, Le Corbusier en de Auto (Rotterdam: Les Editions Finistères, 1992). Furthermore – he is interested in The City as a phenomenon and the far-reaching (historical) influence of technical innovations and political trends on architecture & urban design.
