
Dirk van Peijpe is urban planner and director of De Urbanisten. Dirk van Peijpe is a committed designer with a particular focus on integrating the themes of climate and ecology into urban design.
With De Urbanisten, he focuses on integrating systems of water, ecology and mobility into spatial design. The aim is to create a sustainable and at the same time attractive living environment for people and animals.
Dirk van Peijpe realised important public spaces in Rotterdam, he contributed to the Rotterdam Climate Adaptation Strategy, started the ZOHO-Climateproof District and researched the value of green infrastructure in Amsterdam. He is supervisor of projects in Doetinchem, Nijmegen and Delft. Dirk van Peijpe is also responsible for numerous water-sensitive and nature-inclusive designs in cities such as Copenhagen, Antwerp and his hometown Rotterdam.
Dirk van Peijpe is a guest lecturer at various educational institutions and a regular guest at international conferences on climate adaptation and urban design.
