AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Festivals also took place again in 2001 and 2003. In 2007 AFFR made a fresh start after a few years of silence. In 2009 the event expanded significantly in terms of visitor numbers and programming.

Deyan Sudjic

Deyan Sudjic

Deyan Sudjic is a writer, curator and critic. He edited Domus magazine in Milan, and was director of the Venice Architecture Biennale. He is Director Emeritus of the Design Museum in London, professor of design and architectural studies at Lancaster University and Editor of Anima, the International design magazine.
His books have been published in eleven languages. They include The Language of Cities, B is for Bauhaus, The Language of Things, The Edifice Complex, and Stalin’s Architect.

He has curated numerous exhibitions , including Foster, Rogers Stirling at the Royal Academy, London; Identity and Design, the Louisiana Museum, Copenhagen, Design Cities, Istanbul Modern; and Zaha Hadid, Design Museum London; Stanley Kubrick, Design Museum London.
