Meet the Makers Talk Show

Meet the Makers Talk Show

SAT 13 Oct. – 14. 30 and 16.00

No film festival would be complete without filmmakers!

This year’s Meet the Makers talk show moves to the foyer. Over the course of two sessions, AFFR curator Jord den Hollander will interview a number of filmmakers on their approach to happiness through their work.

Christopher Ian Smith (New Town Utopia), Darren Man (This Cold Life) and Eduardo Klearchos Papanikolaou (The Disappearance of Robin Hood) will expand on the collective pursuit of happiness as expressed in grand urban visions or isolated communities. Each one coming up with a totally different topic and filmic approach, nevertheless they all seem to question which  qualities in our living environment can create a sense of belonging.

The second part of the talk show will dive into the personal spaces and stories of inhabitation that view happiness as an individual issue. Minja Ma (Family in the Bubble), July Bellard (6129m2) and Boris Bertram (Human Shelter) will explain why it’s important to provide a voice to these rather intimate spaces and how the spaces we inhabit eventually embody our ideals of happiness.
