Recap AFFR x Liwan: ‘The Set’
On 23 and 24 January 2026, AFFR was one of the guest programmers of ‘The Set – Design for Screen’ at Liwan Design Studios and Labs in Doha, part of Qatar Museums. The programme included The Lions By The River Tigris, 143 Sahara Street, Between Sound and Silence, The Wall and Warsaw Postsimulacrum. ‘The Set’ is a screening weekend at the intersection of design and film, presenting films that demonstrate the influence of design practice on cinematic work. It celebrates how design disciplines contribute to cinematic storytelling and world building, through a curated program of screenings, panel discussions, and exhibitions. ‘The Set’ brings together filmmakers, designers, artists, and audiences, showcasing design choices that create iconic moments in cinema.
