In memoriam:Kristin Feireiss-Commerell1 July 1942 – 20 April 2025
We are deeply saddened by the news that Kristin Feireiss, chairwoman of the first AFFR board and as such one of the founders of our festival, has passed away on 20 April at the age of 82, after a brief illness.
For over half a century, Kristin Feireiss helped shape the public debate on architecture, urban development and social change. She was one of the driving forces behind the architectural and cultural rebirth of Rotterdam in the early 2000s, during her tenure as the director of the NAi. She will be missed by the architecture community worldwide.
