AFFR Opening Night:
Charlotte’s Castle

On Wednesday 9 October, AFFR 2024 opens at Theater Rotterdam/Schouwburg, with the documentary Charlotte’s Castle (Jamie Kastner, 2022), a dryly comical documentary about housing, redevelopment, activism, and fishbone parquets. The setting is Toronto, but there’s a Dutch twist to this story.

Ticket sales for AFFR 2023 are going fast, and this is especially true for the following three bestsellers: Siza, The View and The Mies van der Rohe's.

AFFR 2023 Bestsellers almost sold out!

Siza, Augusto Custodio, Fri 6 Oct, 19:15. Preceded by Marit Geluk’s short film Intuition, about Siza and Adri Duivesteijn – a unique opportunity to see two films about Álvaro Siza in a Siza building.

The View, Ole Stenum, the film about the possibility or impossibility of building an ethical prison. Tickets are only available for Sun 8 Oct, 13:00, the screening on Sat 7 Oct at 17:45 is completely sold out.

The Mies van der Rohe’s, Sabine Gissingen, Thu 5 Oct, 21:00 en Sat 7 Oct, 21:30, gives a voice to the women, daughters and girlfriends who helped to create the myth around Mies van der Rohe, while they themselves were hindered in their development by old-fashioned mores and fossilized traditions.
