Specially for AFFR, this hundred-year-old silent film will be accompanied by live music from jazz pianist Matteo Myderwyk, together with an introduction by Erik Daams

The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari with a live score by Matteo Myderwyk<br>Sat 10 Oct 21:30

At a village fete the mysterious hypnotist Doctor Caligari appears with a clairvoyant sleepwalker. Have they anything to do with the series of deaths ravaging the village? The film was banned for many years owing to its uniquely expressionist imagery. As the first horror film in an explicitly designed decor, Caligari went on to exert a huge influence on both architecture and film history. The screening will be preceded by a short lecture by film expert Erik Daams on the influence of this unforgettable classic.
