CALL FOR SUBMISSION OF FILMS: DEADLINE 29 MAY 2019

AFFR 2019
The eleventh edition of the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam takes place at LantarenVenster cinema from 9 to 13 October 2019. The AFFR editors — headed by curator Jord den Hollander — are working to select the latest provocative international films about recent developments in the city and architecture. In addition to screening feature films and documentaries, the festival includes talk shows, debates and lectures related to topical issues.

Lost in Transition
In its eleventh edition the AFFR will use the theme ‘Lost in Transition’ to explore the need for a change in our way of thinking and living to guarantee a new world that is fairer and more sustainable. How will designers, city makers and builders shape this new world? How should we deal with migration flows, the transition to cleaner energy sources, increasing social inequality in cities, and climate change? Do new insights and technological solutions provide security for the future or have we become paralysed and ‘Lost in Transition’?
