City for Sale

The next Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam takes place at LanterenVenster cinema from 4 to 8 October 2017. This year's festival focuses on the city as a commodity. Under the motto ‘City for Sale’, AFFR will explore the effects of international flows of capital on the composition of the city and its population: buildings as investment models, architecture as a tourist attraction and the city as a revenue model.

AFFR History

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) was established in 2000, and the foundation organized its festival the same year as the first architecture film festival in the world. Festivals also took place again in 2001 and 2003. In 2007 AFFR made a fresh start after a few years of silence. In 2009 the event expanded significantly in terms of visitor numbers and programming.

Ferry: ferries to Hotel New York on Wilhelminapier depart regularly from Leuvenhaven (€3.60 p.p.) and Veerhaven (€2.90 p.p.) every day. Waiting time is maximum 15 minutes. Departures on Thursday until 21.00 hrs, Friday to Sunday until 00.00 hrs
