Surrounded by an enormous collection of 16mm film material, the 80-year-old filmmaker Ioan-Matei Agapi spends his days in a dilapidated apartment in Iași, Romania. Until one day he learns that he has to leave his home. The film collection that he values so much suddenly proves to be a huge burden. Timebox is a remarkable portrait of a passionate artist, filmed by his daughter Nora Agapi. A personal story full of old conflicts, which also illustrates the history of Romania with reflections on the country’s social housing. Like all houses, this apartment turns out to be more than just a roof over your head. It is a treasure trove full of memories and history.
