Order
In a smooth, clean design world, recognizable things happen that are still difficult to understand. Luckily, the two technicians in The Opening, the Keymaster and Gatemaster, know exactly what they are doing, and they do it imperturbably. With precision, albeit with a little theatricality, they install medical-blue curtains on a number of floors of an office building. Not a word is spoken, even when, at the push of a button, the screens turn into passageways into another dimension. Architecture is only really finished when it is used, contends video artist Davide Rapp with The Opening. Colour and form are just as convincing as the initiation depicted in the film.
