A quest for happiness, headed by Stalker, in a high-security, mysterious place called the Zone. The confusion and fear of our time have never been better expressed than in this 1979 masterpiece by Tarkovsky. Is there any hope in the marshy, desolate landscape of the Zone? Is the journey of the Writer and the Professor to the Room where all wishes are fulfilled doomed from the outset?
