A group of friends from Amsterdam dreams of a sustainable, affordable and especially shared residential building. De Warren is the first completed self-built housing corporation in Amsterdam and consists of a collective of 36 households. This remarkable way of living together demands a different role from the architect, municipality and contractor. Without any prior knowledge, the collective succeeds in negotiating the process of developing, designing and building a collective residential building. But at what price?
