Gypsum Concrete
A second life for used bricks, tiles and concrete. With a rapid-montage film style and a rousing soundtrack, the architects of the French office Ciguë explain what they stand for: as little building waste as possible. In a quaintly futurist, laboratory-like workshop, they pulverize, analyse and categorize various types of used building material. They then make a wonderful set of samples out of locally sourced gypsum – a raw material for plaster that is easy to recycle. They are tested and, hey presto: they have themselves an alternative coating.
