Charlotte Perriand, Pioneer in the Art of Living

With her radical designs for furniture and architecture, Charlotte Perriand became one of the most innovative designers of the 20th century. She spent many years in the shadow of Le Corbusier, in whose studio she worked from 1927 to 1937 with Pierre Jeanneret on pioneering designs such as the celebrated chaise longue basculante, the tubular furniture for the Villa Savoye and the Refuge Tonneau, a Tiny House avant la lettre. Charlotte Perriand, Pioneer in the Art of Living is a revealing portrait of an influential designer who battled for the position of women in a male-dominated world.

Part of the specials Charlotte Perriand & Debate (8 Oct) and Architectenweb Best of AFFR (10 Oct).
