About the installation
Take a journey through time to the heart of Fukushima before the nuclear disaster. Address Unknown: Fukushima Now is an immersive yet sensitive VR documentary that steers clear of sensationalism. Through the eyes of former residents, you experience how the nuclear power plant was built and the role it played for the city. You learn about their past belief in the promise of nuclear energy, but also their memories of shopping streets, temples, schools and houses they can never visit again due to radioactive contamination. Using the most advanced volumetric and photogrammetry technology, Address Unknown: Fukushima Now manages to place you inside these memories, a unique experience that makes the consequences of the disaster more tangible than ever before.
