The world’s biggest film festival about the city and built environment takes place for the fourteenth time in Rotterdam, the city of architecture. In a world turned upside down, facing enormous challenges and contending with one new reality after another, AFFR 2022 will focus on the need to press pause. Or, in cinematic terms, to freeze the frame.
From 5 to 9 October 2022, Theater Zuidplein and LantarenVenster are the places to be for everybody who wants to view the world from different angles in a freeze frame – a programme with the best documentaries, movies and shorts about the city and architecture.
In five days packed with premieres and previously undiscovered films, filmmakers answer all your questions, experts offer illuminating introductions, and people involved discuss the big issues. Also included are masterclasses, a VR lounge, short programmes and film classics. For those who cannot choose, there is a Best of AFFR on Sunday.
