AFFR edition 2017 - City For Sale

During the ninth AFFR edition, the theme City for Sale was central. The festival zoomed in on the city as a commodity. What are the consequences of international capital flows on society? What about those investment models? The theme was reflected in many films, talk shows and debates.

Didi Contractor, marrying the earth to the buiklding

Steffi Giaracuni | Germany

De Pier

Jeroen Visser | The Netherlands)
With a lot of goodwill and overconfidence the Pier van Scheveningen can be seen as the Coney Island of the Netherlands. Like the Euromast, the Pier was by H.A. Designing Maaskant with no other purpose than recreation. But fifty years later nothing of the great popularity is left.

"With City for Sale, AFFR wants to generate a discussion about an urgent issue of concern to everybody with a heart for the city."
