ANBI-status
If you have a warm heart for AFFR, you can support the foundation financially in various ways. When making donations to AFFR, you can benefit from tax advantages.
Stichting Architectuur Filmfestival Rotterdam (AFFR) has been designated as a Public Benefit Organization (PBO- or ANBI status) by the Dutch Tax Authorities. This ANBI status means that certain donations are tax-deductible, and we do not have to pay gift or inheritance tax on received donations and bequests.

For private individuals
AFFR has been designated by the Dutch Tax Authorities as a ‘cultural public benefit organization’ (cultural ANBI). This means you can deduct a donation from your taxes, including an increased factor, so that the deductible amount is higher than your actual gift. For the first €5.000 you donate, there is an increase factor of 25%. For example, if you donate €1.000, your tax deduction will be €1.250.
Depending on the type of donation, a threshold may sometimes be applied. AFFR does not have to pay gift tax on your donation. This means that every euro fully benefits the film festival program. If desired, you can indicate a preference for how your periodic donation should be spent. For a donation of €50,000 or more, it is possible to set up a named fund.
For companies
Do you want to donate to AFFR with your private limited company (BV)? This can be done through a donation. This is not considered a business expense but can, under certain conditions, be deducted from your company’s profit.
The amount can be deducted from the taxable profit for corporate income tax (Vpb). This applies to both one-time and periodic donations. The maximum deduction is 50% of the profit, with a maximum of €100.000. A donation to a cultural ANBI has an increased factor of 50% on a maximum of the first €5.000.
