This first fiction movie by documetary filmmaker Mira Naur portrays the life of a street kid. The scenario was based on stories of a series of street kids, who were selected for and participated in a workshop in which they learned to act naturally in front of a camera. The film manages to evoke the natural, day-to-da reality character of a documentary, but combines it with the emotional impact of a fiction film. Main reason is that all filming happened on location, sometimes with candid cameras, like in the burial scene. The fact that nothing was shot in the studio means that the architecture has influenced the camera positions used. The only elements that could create an unwanted romantic effect were the colors and the daylight that blend out the bad smell of poverty.
